not an official page of Pan Am Assoc./Aloha Chapter
On October 17, 2015, I was the guest speaker at the Pan Am Association - Aloha Chapter that met every other month at the Wailea Country Club. The members are the former employees of Pan American World Airways. Pan Am was indeed the leader in early air travel and continued for over 50 years until it ceased operations on April 26, 1986. My presentation featured Capt. Charles F. Blair Jr. and his wife Maureen O'Hara, Capt. Blair was a senior pilot for Pan Am for many years and just before his retirement he started a seaplane airline in U.S. Virgin Islands called Antilles Air Boats. I worked for Capt. Blair and shared more about his years in aviation. Shortly after my visit with the Pan Am Association - Aloha Chapter, I became a Ohana member. Ohana is a designation for those individuals that are not former employees but have a unique connection to the airline. My 50+ years in aviation had me working with many that were part of Pan Am. I have enjoyed my membership and the opportunity to get to know those that worked for this iconic airline. Mahalo!
